The World According to Ella #2

I had to work today, so Big Daddy was in charge. He was ready to hand them over to strangers by the time we met up for dinner. Ella had her hair in ponytails, which weren't bad. I complimented her and asked her if Daddy did her hair. Tripp shook his head, proud of himself. Ella smiled and shook her head and then added, "It was a rough time...and it hurt...". Big Daddy just hung his head and laughed.

Mary Elliot

We finally made to see our beautiful new neice, Elliot, on Friday. She slept most of the time, but then again she is 2 weeks old. Ella and Connor tore the house up! We battled a hurricane (almost) to get to Chili's and then watched some of "Annie". I bet Elliot and Sophia will be best buds in a year or two, just like Connor and Ella are!

In His Pants?

Just remembered something about our preschool meeting today. All the parents and children were filtering in the sanctuary for the initial meeting and they had some children's bible songs playing. Quite loudly, actually.Ella didn't know most of the songs, so she was trying to pick up some words. Just as the director was calling the meeting to attention and the music was getting softer, she is finally able to hear the words. She stands up in the pew and says (VERY loudly), "Momma, God had WHAT in his PANTS?? ( i.e- he's got the whole world in his hands...) My sweet, sweet Ella...

Open House and Ravioli

Ella met her teacher, Ms. Cyndi today and played in her new classroom. She wore a really cute dress. Unfortunately, she looked silly because all the other kids were dressed in play clothes. Sophia, on the other hand, bathed herself in Chef Boyardee just before we left. She already had applesauce in her hair from lunch, so she was really funky by bathtime.

What's in a Name?

Ella has been working on learning some basics like her phone number/address and can now write her name..legibly. Miss Tara has taught her a lot, but it is time for some social manners like learning to stand in line (a problem we learned she had at a recent Bday party) and learning that the teacher is in charge. Preschool should be interesting. By the way, my sister-in-law has made me an aunt, again. Mary Elliot is two weeks old and looks just like my brother-in-law, Will. Hopefully, I will get to see that munchkin soon. Check out her pics on www.newsomefam.blogspot.com.

Our Girls

Finally...

Hey, everyone! This is the first entry into our family blog. I have been reading everyone else's blogs for months, just haven't had the time for our own! I will try to update with the girls' pictures and funny sayings. Ella is full of hilarious comments and Sophia does hilarious things. During the day I will have to leave it to our overworked SuperNanny, Tara, to keep snapping pics! Ella starts 3 yr old preschool next week, so I'm sure we will have lots to tell you about. Here are some recent pics and videos. Sophia is probably going to be a professional dancer when she gets older. Ella has entertainment talent, but if you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up she says "a nascar driver!!!!" Wonder who taught her that.....
